Nearly Half Of All Allergic Infections Come From Your Carpet

Do you know that the majority of allergic infections come from your household? If not, you will be even more surprised to hear that nearly 90% of this comes from your carpets. Yes, I said your carpets. We promise we are not kidding, or exaggerating, these are true facts. It doesn’t matter whether your carpet looks clean; it is the dust, mites and allergens which are lurking at base of your carpet pile. It is essential that these pollutants are effectively removed in order to reduce the number of infections.

Of course, you could always choose to clean your carpets yourself, particularly now that there are more powerful cleaners than ever before! No, of course we are not serious… these cleaners that are advertised on TV commercials probably are “even more powerful”, but they are still unable to match the standard of cleaning provided by our professional technicians.

At Breeze Carpet Cleaners, we use the steam cleaning (or hot water extraction) method, which is the ONLY method to be recommended by industry bodies and all carpet manufacturers. We have even created our own unique nine stage steam cleaning programme which ensures that your methods are effectively cleaned.

By removing the dust, dust mites and allergens such as pollen, you are reducing the chance for an allergic infection. Also, if anyone within your home suffers from asthma, it is absolutely essential that your carpets are professionally steam cleaned as these contaminants can aggravate this already awful illness. Don’t get us wrong, professional carpet cleaning is important in any home as it can create a much healthier living environment for you an your family.

The number of people that think vacuuming alone, or a little carpet shampoo can have the same effect as professional cleaning is outstanding. It is recommended by industry experts that you should ensure your carpets receive professional treatment approximately every 12 months depending on the traffic and soiling. For homes with pets and children, this time frame is reduced to around every 6 months, and for professional couples who spend a lot of time out the house, perhaps every 18 months.

Whatever your circumstances, professional carpet cleaning is very important. Contact Breeze Carpet Cleaners today for a quotation.

Don’t Feel Embarrassed By Your Tired Carpets

Do you ever feel embarrassed when a guest in your home notices a stain or dirt mark on your carpets, curtains, rugs or upholstery? Stain removal services are offered by Breeze Carpet Cleaners; in fact we pride ourselves on being able to remove stains more effectively than any other professional carpet cleaning company. All we ask is that you don’t touch the stain and you contact us as soon as possible.

We offer services for a huge number of stains including red wine, rust, melted wax, dried paint, oil, chewing gum and ink. However, if you don’t have any stains or marks on your carpets, we’re sure that you can still take advantage of what we have to offer. We are able to repair, renew and breathe a new life into your tired carpets. If you’re carpets are lifeless, steam cleaning can completely restore them, perhaps saving you needing to consider replacement for another few years.

By lifting bad odours, dirt, allergens, oils, stains and other pollutants from your carpets, a good steam cleaning can really penetrate the pile and leave them looking fresh. The same cleaning method can be applied to rugs, and upholstery too. If you are hiring us for carpet cleaning and stain removal, why not see if we can do the rest and leave your entire home feeling fresh and clean.

Why Do I Need Dust Mite Removal?

Dust mites are everywhere in your home, and if left untreated will infect your carpets. The females only live for 80 days, but within that time they are able to lay up to 100 eggs! If you do not obtain professional dust mite removal from a carpet cleaning company, you could be harbouring potentially harmful habitats. Dust mites do not attack the human body, but there are a large number of people in the UK who are susceptible to an allergic reaction. The dust mites create a protein which is left behind in their faeces, and it is this which many people are allergic to.

Routine carpet cleaning is unable to remove the dust mite faeces, which is why it is important that you specifically request a dust mite removal service. Although high quality steam cleaning is able to remove more allergens than any other method, dust mites can still cause a problem. If you want dust mites removed, the best way is with a professional removal method.

If you have a busy household, it is more likely that you will have dust mites infesting your carpets. This is because humans are constantly shedding small amounts of skin, which is what attracts dust mites. If you are looking to prevent dust mites housing in your home, there are a few small things you can do such as changing bed linen on a regular basis.

The fibres of your carpet pile are what keep the dust mites secure in your carpets, and this is the reason that vacuuming is unable to remove the pests. A professional carpet cleaning company should be able to use an appropriate steam cleaning method, combined with pesticides to remove the dust mites as much as possible. It is impossible to completely remove every single trace of dust mites, but a carpet cleaning company will provide the best result.

If you want to maintain an almost dust mite free home, it is recommended that you follow these steps:

  • Obtain frequent and regular professional carpet cleaning, with additional dust mite removal
  • Ensure that your home is kept as dust free as possible by polishing on a regular basis
  • Change bedding and clean pillows and mattress frequently.

Dust mites can cause serious allergies and worsen the symptoms of asthmas, so it is essential that your home is kept as dust mite free as possible. By employing a professional carpet cleaning company, you are providing a healthier living environment for you and your family.

Do I Need Scotchguard Protection In Addition To My Steam Cleaning?

We’ve talked about the need to protect your investments many times, and how steam carpet cleaning can do  that. We are not taking any of that away, by regularly vacuuming and having your carpets professionally cleaned, you are prolonging their lifespan, and ensuring that they look brighter and fresher for longer. However, stain protection is a different matter, and this is where the benefit to our Scotchguard application comes into effect.

The idea behind Scotchguard protection is to protect your carpet from stains and a build up of dirt and grime. By asking your Breeze cleaning technician to apply additional Scotchguard protection at the time of cleaning, you can help eliminate stains and protect even further against re-soiling. Scotchguard is able to surround the carpet fibres and provide a shield against dirt and soils, meaning that it is far easier to vacuum up. We are able to apply this protection to rugs and upholstery as well as your carpets, meaning that all your furnishings are equally protected.

If you’re unsure of how our Scotchguard application could benefit you, let’s take a very common spillage example. Everyone seems to spill red wine on the new cream carpet, if you do not have Scotchguard protection that liquid will absorb into the fibres and more often than not leave a permanent stain. Whereas, if your carpet had received the Scotchguard protection from one of Breeze’s cleaning agents, the liquid would bead up, providing you will enough time to clean the spill before a stain is formed.

This same repellent applies for any sort of liquid, and homeowners have expressed how useful this is in homes with pets. All pet owners will be well aware of the struggle to keep carpets clean with a young puppy or kitten- urine, faeces and vomit are regular occurrences, but Scotchguard can help prevent these stains too.

In addition to helping prevent stains, applying Scotchguard to your carpets can help strengthen your carpets and delay any wear patterns forming in your carpet. By walking on the same paths of carpet, you are causing damage to the fibres, but this can be prevented with Scotchguard protection.

When you protect your carpets with Scotchguard, as well as ensuring your carpets receive regular steam carpet cleaning, your carpets will be able to stay looking new and fresh for longer. Carpets are expensive investments, and so it is important that you delay having to replace them for as long as possible. Contact Breeze Carpet Cleaners today to see how we can protect your carpets.

Do you know why Breeze uses steam cleaning?

At Breeze Carpet Cleaners, we are proud of our nine stage steam cleaning programme, we tell all our clients that we use it, and we write about it on our website, but do you know why we use steam cleaning? Perhaps you don’t even know what steam cleaning is. Here we will explain briefly the idea behind steam cleaning, and why we (and many other people) prefer it to other methods.

The fifth stage in Breeze’s nine stage cleaning programme is the hot water extraction stage, which is where the real steam cleaning starts. This state of the art machine uses the latest technology to shoot water and cleaning solution into the carpet, and then uses a triple vacuum to draw out this fluid, along with any dirt, oils and allergens at extremely high pressures.  Only by using the best equipment is it possible to achieve great results.

Other parts of our cleaning programme include a pre-treatment and rinse, which ensure that your carpets are as fully protected as possible. If sticky residues are left behind on the carpet, it can actively encourage re-soiling, which is why we always thoroughly rinse your carpet once it has been through the hot water extraction.

There are other methods of carpet cleaning available, but none of these are as effective as steam cleaning (hot water extraction). We promise we’re not just saying that, in fact steam cleaning is the only carpet cleaning method to be approved and recommended by industry bodies and all carpet manufacturers.

Carpet cleaning methods not used by Breeze Carpet Cleaners due to their ineffectiveness are, dry cleaning and bonnet cleaning. Dry cleaning is unable to remove the dirt, stains and potentially harmful allergens from your carpets as it only picks up debris from the surface of the pile, whereas these contaminants are at the base of the carpet. Dry cleaning simply moves the dirt around the surface of the carpet, making it look clean, when in fact it is not. Bonnet cleaning can cause severe damage to your carpet, and actually shorten its lifespan, meaning that the more cleanings you have, the earlier you will have to replace your carpet.

At Breeze, we want customers to benefit from our carpet cleaning service, which is why we offer steam cleaning at great rates throughout London and surrounding counties.

Top Carpet Cleaning False Advertising Techniques Busted

Here at Breeze Carpet Cleaners, we are proud of the transparent and honest service we provide to customers. We never over-exaggerate what we can offer, or what people say about us – we just tell you the truth. Unfortunately this is not the case for many London carpet cleaners. In fact, we are ashamed to say we are in the same industry as some. Here we have listed a few of the top mis-advertisements used within the carpet cleaning market to help you when choosing your carpet cleaner.

Cheapest carpet cleaning rates

This has to be one of the biggest and worst false advertisements by carpet cleaning companies. A common trick is to advertise and quote extremely low rates, unbeatable by anyone else, and then use poor sales tactics to pressurise customers into purchasing additional treatments. Only once inside your home will the carpet cleaners inform you of the required extras that your carpet ‘needs’, some might even tell you that they are unable to carry out the cleaning unless you pay for the additional treatment. More often than not, this is a load of rubbish and the original price was simply to lure customers in and commit to making an appointment.

Tip: Before you confirm an appointment, make sure you ask whether the price you have been quoted is the total price you will be expected to pay.

Breeze Carpet Cleaners: We offer all of our clients a price promise guarantee, where the price you see advertised or you are quoted, will be the final price you will pay and not a penny more. When we say we have the most affordable rates – we are telling the truth!

Best Carpet Cleaning

There are a number of different carpet cleaning methods, these include steam cleaning, dry cleaning, bonnet cleaning and many more. If a carpet cleaning company is advertising as being able to provide you with the best carpet cleaning, they must use the steam cleaning technique. This is because steam cleaning (or hot water extraction cleaning) is the ONLY method to be recommended by all carpet manufacturers and industry bodies.

Tip: Ask your carpet cleaning company which cleaning method they use and why.

Breeze Carpet Cleaners: We only ever use steam cleaning on your carpets, and have even created our nine stage cleaning programme to ensure that all of our clients receive the same high quality cleaning.

We are glad that we are able to respect our customers by ensuring that they are always fully aware of what is involved in our carpet cleaning service. Don’t be fooled by fancy words or smooth sales tactics, and always make sure you get enough information before you commit to using a carpet cleaning company. At Breeze Carpet Cleaners, we are happy to answer any questions you might have.

Top Ten Carpet Cleaning Myths (Part 2)

I only need to vacuum my carpet once or twice a week

This has to be one of the most common myths believed by homeowners around the country. We can’t think of anyone who vacuums daily, but this is what is actually recommended by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and carpet manufacturers. The reasoning behind this is that when the air from outside comes into your home it contaminates your carpet with dust, pollen and industrial pollutants. Once in your indoor environment, these particles settle into the carpet – you will be shocked by how much accumulates in one day. By removing these particles on a daily basis, you could add years to the life of your carpet.

Steam cleaning is bad for my carpet

There are a number of carpet cleaning methods out there, but steam cleaning is the best at removing contaminants, and is recommended by industry experts including the Institute of Inspection, Restoration and Cleaning Certification, and the EPA. Dry cleaning is bad for your carpet as it only leaves the carpet looking clean, and leaves behind a lot of soil in the base of your carpet. Steam cleaning is also known as hot water extraction and is the best method of carpet cleaning due to it being able to remove more soils and contaminants effectively. When carried out by a professional, rather than with a hired machine, it can also remove up to 85% of the moisture at the same time.

Deodorising powder keeps my carpets smelling fresh

Wrong. Well technically, you are right in that it does make your carpets smell fresh but it can cause long term damage in the process. Every time your sprinkle this fine powder (made from talcum powder) onto your carpet, it becomes embedded deeper in the pile and into the carpet backing and underlay as it is never completely vacuumed up. The problem then arises when you do obtain professional carpet cleaning as once it becomes wet and starts to dry again, the powder comes to the surface of the carpet creating large white stains.

I can dry a flooded carpet myself

Yes, you can try but no, water damage needs to be seen to by a professional as there is only a 48-72 hour time frame for the carpet to be dried before mould and mildew starts to form. If this window is missed, mould and mildew will start to form on your carpet, with many of the strains of mould being highly toxic. It is impossible to completely dry your carpets without removing the carpet underlay. This layer is highly absorbent and must be replaced, rather than simply dried and put back.

I have to replace my carpet if a pet soils it

If you have an extreme case of pet soiling, you do usually need to completely replace your carpets, however, in some cases this can be treated with an effective enzyme pet odour remover. This works as enzymes are able to digest and neutralise the urine and remove the stain in the process.

Top Ten Carpet Cleaning Myths (Part 1)

I can save money on a discount carpet

We are not trying to burst your bubble, but one of the most common misconceptions amongst homeowners is that an expensive carpet is a waste of money. Although a discount carpet may do the job for a few years, it is made with less durable fibres which have a low wear resistance. This means that in just a short period of time, areas of high traffic will become visible, whereas a quality carpet could take up to 30 years to show the same wearing.

I don’t really need thick underlay – my carpet is thick enough

Your carpet is only as good as the underlay you use. Whichever carpet you purchase, even the most expensive in the store, will become worn and damaged prematurely if you do not have a high quality underlay. There are different types of underlay available, but it is always recommended that you choose the best you can afford.

My carpet doesn’t need professional cleaning because it’s only 12 months old

The number of people that believe this third myth is actually shocking, and is one of the most costly mistakes any homeowner could make. By not professionally cleaning your carpet until it is visibly dirty, or not at all, means that too much damage has already occurred. Dirt and soils in your carpet break down the fibres, and fluff and fuzz will start to come away whilst vacuuming. If this is happening, you need to contact a professional carpet cleaning company as soon as possible to see if the situation can be rectified. How often your carpet needs cleaning does depend on your home life, but every 6-12 months is a reasonable guide.

I have my own carpet cleaning machine so I don’t need to hire a professional

Wrong again. Many people hire a steam cleaning machine rather than hiring an expert to do it as they see it as saving money. However, these machines can actually damage your carpet as they are able to pump lots of water and cleaning solution into the carpet, but not extract it out. This leaves your carpet susceptible to mould, re-soiling and premature aging. If your carpet requires cleaning, contact a professional who has access to state of the art technology to ensure that your carpet is always left as dry as possible.

Supermarket stain removal products are effective enough

Most of the products that you see lined up on supermarket shelves or advertised on television claiming to be able to remove any stain should never be purchased. They will probably remove the stain, we have no doubt, but they will take a third of the colour out of your carpet too. They contain extremely harsh chemicals which cause long term damage to carpets, and should be avoided at all costs. A professional carpet cleaning company should be able to remove any stains using fibre specific stain removal techniques.

Why it is always better to hire a professional carpet cleaner, than hire a carpet cleaning machine

It is a relatively well known fact amongst home owners that steam cleaning is the best way to remove stains, contaminants, oils and allergens from carpets. Using a steam cleaning, or hot water extraction, machine is the smart way to clean carpets. However, one problem still remains, whether to hire a professional carpet cleaning company or whether to buy/hire a steam cleaning machine and do it themselves. It might seem obvious to choose whatever is most financially viable to you at the time, but it is still recommended that you hire a cleaning service, over doing it yourself.

Investing in a steam cleaning machine is an unnecessary expense if you only have your carpets deep cleaned once or maybe twice a year. What is seen as a reasonable alternative is to hire a machine, but the cost of hiring a machine every time you want to clean up a stain is equally as expensive. When you hire a professional carpet cleaning service, they will be able to effectively clean your carpets, and possibly other domestic cleaning too. Here at Breeze Carpet Cleaners, we are able to offer rug cleaning, upholstery cleaning and curtain cleaning as well as our standard carpet cleaning service.  Our machinery and equipment is state of the art and far more powerful than any machine available to hire. It is far more sensible to hire a professional carpet cleaning company than hire or purchase a machine to do it yourself.

Using a steam cleaning machine is actually relatively simple, well the ones available for DIY methods anyway. However, your carpet is not as easy to understand. It is absolutely essential that you are fully aware of machinery, equipment and solutions can be applied to your carpet, in order to not cause any damage. If handled incorrectly, you end up causing enough damage that you need to replace your carpet.

By hiring a professional carpet cleaner, you are not risking damaging your carpets as our cleaning technicians are highly trained and experienced at delivering high quality carpet cleaning. Contact Breeze Carpet Cleaners now to ensure that your carpets are effectively cleaned by a professional.

Breeze Carpet Cleaners is the carpet cleaning company you can trust

At Breeze Carpet Cleaners we pride ourselves on providing a clear and honest service to all of our customers in London and surrounding areas. We are a professional carpet cleaning company, specialising in steam cleaning carpets, upholstery and curtains, but we don’t want to be bundled into the same category as other carpet cleaning companies. We stand out from the crowd because of our transparent approach to pricing.

Unlike many other carpet cleaning companies in London and surrounding areas, we ensure that our customers are fully informed of all the charges associated with their cleaning before any of our technicians even enter your home. Our prices are clearly displayed on our website, but if you’re uncertain or would like those prices confirmed, simply contact one of our friendly advisors.

Unfortunately, it is common practice within our industry to attract customers with ridiculously low carpet cleaning prices, but then tack on additional treatments and fees once we have started the cleaning. Many companies will prey on innocent customers  by claiming that they require protective pre-treatments, or something extra to remove pet hair, or additional charges for ‘old’ or ‘damaged’ carpets. These costs can mount up, and what you were expecting to cost just £50 could turn into £300.

Breeze Carpet Cleaners do not want to be associated with this poor practice, we are committed to ensuring that our customers receive a world class service, in terms of both affordability, quality of clean and customer service. We are dedicated to breaking the mould and providing the people of London a fantastic professional steam cleaning service. This price promise guarantee that we adopt will always protect you from money scamming schemes, and will ensure that you never pay a penny more than the price we quoted or you saw advertised.

At Breeze we are able to provide the following services:

  • Carpet cleaning
  • Rug cleaning
  • Curtain cleaning
  • Stain removal
  • Dust mite removal
